5 Exhibitions to open this weekend in Chicago

It is a leap year as this February has one more day. 5 exciting exhibitions are going to open this weekend across the city from Friday, February 28 to Sunday, March 1. Kavi Gupta Gallery will open the “Tony Tasset: The Weight” exhibition on Friday, February 28 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The artworks of Tony Tasset define the norms of pop conceptualism. The art-lovers will be able to have a close look at the American visual vernacular demonstrated by Tasset.

Volume Gallery will open the “Tenure” exhibition on February 28 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The artistic designs of the emerging contemporary artists and designers will be presented in the exhibition. The exhibitiongoers will get an opportunity to view the amazing artwork of Tanya Aguiniga, Ross Hansen, Sung Jang, Ania Jaworska, Krueck + Sexton, Thaddeus Wolfe, Sam Stewart, Anders Ruhwald, Christy Matson, and Jonathan Muecke.

Chicago Cultural Center is going to open the “NKAME: A Retrospective of Cuban Printmaker Belkis Ayon (1967 – 1999)” exhibition on Friday, February 28 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The exhibition will present the amazing work of Belkis Ayon. Ayon was a Cuban visual artist and printmaker. The graphic productions created by Ayon will be exhibited in the event.

The Miller & Shellabarger: Homo-entanglement is going to open by Western Exhibitions on Friday, Feb. 28 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The romantic arts of married artist collaborators, Miller & Shellabarger, will be presented in the exhibition. The couple will present amazing photographs, artists’ books, and prints in the event.

Zolla/Lieberman Gallery will open the “Rene Romero Schuler” exhibition on Feb. 28, Friday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The exhibition will present the artistic works of Rene Romero Schuler. Schuler is known for creating powerful images that speak to the heart of the human condition. Schuler’s work presents sorrow, love, and solitude. Moreover, the Museum of Contemporary Art will open the “Duro Olowu: Seeing Chicago” exhibition on Saturday, February 29.
