Chicago Fire goes through a rough as it loses three of their last four games

It is a tough July for Chicago Fire as they have lost three of their last four games. Veljko Paunovic’s team opened the month of July with a sensational win against Atlanta United. The team is going through a rough period in Major League Soccer play.

The Fire has lost three of their last four matches and the only fourth match was also a tie against the Columbus Crew. It also lost against Philadelphia Union on Saturday with a score of 2-0. The team is winless this season and their overall record has been dropped to 5-10-8. The playoff hopes of the team are getting farther with every defeat and a bad result.

The team has got a good chance to regroup in a new tournament earlier this week. The Fire hosted Cruz Azul on Tuesday in the first League’s Cup. League’s Cup is a well-known soccer league of Mexico. Chicago Fire has already been eliminated from the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. It was a great opportunity for the team to perform well and get some confidence outside the MLS. Unfortunately, it did not happen and the Fire lost against the Azul in SeatGeek Stadium on Tuesday night.

Cruz Azul picked up a great victory with the score of 2-0 against the Chicago Fire in front of the huge number of supporters. Veljko, Paunovic picked up a different lineup for the match as he put seven different players in the starting 11. Roberto Alvarado scored in the 43rd minute of the match and Elias Hernandez added the second goal in the 90th minute.

The team has a focus on the MLS play as it has one more game left in the tournament. The Chicago Fire will host DC United on Saturday. A win will certainly help the team to get out of a difficult period and end the month of July on a positive note. The current performance of the team is quite poor as it has lost three out of their last four games.
