Chicago Fire Host St. Louis CITY SC in MLS Clash Tonight

Chicago Fire FC will meet St. Louis CITY SC at SeatGeek Stadium tonight in the teams’ third-ever regular-season matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, with the game available on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV and on local radio through WLS 890 AM in English or Que Buena Fire on the Uforia App in Spanish. Fans can also watch a replay of the match on Marquee Sports Network on Tuesday, August 19, at 4 p.m. CT.

The Fire comes into the contest on a four-game unbeaten streak and will look to claim their third win over St. Louis across all competitions before beginning a two-game road swing on the East Coast.

Head Coach and Director of Football Gregg Berhalter has opted for the same Starting XI as last week’s 2-2 draw with LAFC at SeatGeek Stadium. Defender Carlos Terán, who scored his first goal of the season in that match, makes his seventh start alongside captain Jack Elliott in central defense. Leonardo Barroso and Andrew Gutman complete the backline, with Gutman making his 26th appearance of the campaign.

Goalkeeper Chris Brady, aiming for his fourth clean sheet of 2025, will be making his 84th career appearance. In midfield, Dje D’Avilla earns a third consecutive start in his 13th game this year, once again paired with Homegrown talents Sergio Oregel Jr. and Brian Gutiérrez, who assisted Jonathan Bamba’s goal last week.

On the wings, Bamba starts opposite Philip Zinckernagel, who was named to the MLS Team of Matchday 28 after recording two assists against LAFC. Zinckernagel is just two assists shy of equaling Chicago’s single-season record of 14 and could reach that milestone tonight while linking up with leading scorer Hugo Cuypers.

The Fire remain without midfielders Rominigue Kouamé and David Poreba due to lower-body injuries, while Chris Mueller is sidelined for the rest of the season.

Berhalter’s bench options include goalkeeper Jeff Gal, defenders Jonathan Dean, Omar González, Sam Rogers, midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Mauricio Pineda, Kellyn Acosta, Sam Williams, and forward Tom Barlow.
