The Chicago Sky have officially signed free agent guard Sevgi Uzun to a contract through the end of the 2025 season, the team announced this week.
“We’re excited to add a two-way point guard in Sevgi Uzun,” said Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca. “Uzun is a complete pro who is going to immediately contribute to the Chicago Sky. She’s played at a high level in the WNBA and overseas and will continue to prove to be a strong playmaker and defender.”
Uzun, 27, arrives in Chicago with valuable experience, having played 47 WNBA games to date. Most recently, she spent time with both the Dallas Wings and Phoenix Mercury during the 2025 season. While with Dallas, she appeared in all 40 games and earned 19 starts, averaging 4.4 points, 3.0 assists, and 0.9 steals per game as a rookie.
Early in the season, she started her first 18 games for Dallas, posting averages of 6.8 points, 4.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game while attempting more than three shots from beyond the arc each contest.
One of her standout performances came on June 17 against the Minnesota Lynx, where she scored 17 points and dished out six assists. Over the season, she tallied six or more assists in six different games, including an 11-point, 8-assist effort in a May 26 win over Los Angeles.
Uzun later joined the Phoenix Mercury, appearing in seven games and contributing 11 points and 14 assists during her stint.
On the international stage, Uzun represented Turkey at the 2025 European Championships, where she averaged more than seven points across six games while contributing in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. She also continues to compete with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe.
The Sky are set to face the Washington Mystics on July 29, followed by a stretch of four straight home games between August 1 and August 7, where Uzun is expected to make her debut.
