Chicago Steel ready for 2000s-themed weekend with bobblehead giveaway

The Chicago Steel will face the Omaha Lancers in two back-to-back games at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Friday and Saturday. The games will be based on the 2000s-themed weekend. According to the team management, the Steel will celebrate the 20 seasons with bobblehead giveaway on Saturday night.

It will be a lot of fun for the Steel fans as the first 500 spectators will get the Year 2000 Rusty bobblehead doll, cargo shorts, a Nokia phone, a LIVESTRONG bracelet, and a hairstyle of the 2000s. The Friday night game is named the Year 2000 Throwback. The Steel is on top of the table this season so far and they will face the Lancers on home ice on Friday night.

The Friday night game includes a lot of fun for the fans. The fans will be tested with their knowledge of the 2000s and the lucky winners who will give the right answers to the questions will get several prizes. There will be new dance moves of the new millennium during the game. Both games will be played at 7:05 pm on Friday and Saturday respectively.

The Steel are having one of the best seasons so far as they have won 18 out of their last 19 games. They are also going with a winning streak of 11 games. They will surely look for extended their winning streak against the Lancers at home ice. In the last game, the Steel converted a deficit of 3-2 into a win with 4-3 goals by scoring two goals in the last minute against the Dubuque Fighting Saints at Mystique Community Ice Center in Iowa.

Erik Middendorf, the forward of the Steel, scored match-winning goals in the last two games. He has played 16 games for the Steel and scored seven goals. He also assisted seven goals in his 16 appearances. The Steel will meet the Cedar Rapid RoughRiders on Jan. 26 after these two games.
