The local heroes of Freeport, Illinois will be recognized and memorized in the form of a Hero Tree. The Hero Tree will stand majestically in front of the bell tower from Nov. 24 through the new year. The bell tower is located at the Stephenson County Courthouse. The Hero Tree will be seen by the residents and visitors of Freeport from Sunday, November 24.
The Hero Tree asks for help from the residents of Stephenson County in order to make it more presentable. The Stephenson County residents are urged to create the Hero Ornaments. Those Hero Ornaments will be hung on the tree for the holiday season. The residents can pick up a clear bulb ornament from the Greater Freeport Partnership office in free.
They need to decorate that clear bulb ornament with the photo of a Stephenson County hero. You can also use other materials for making the ornament more decorative and presentable. The residents are advised to return the ornaments to the same office by November 22. The Hero Ornaments are planned to be placed on the Hero Tree on November 24.
The Hero Tree will be lit on November 24 at 12:00 pm. Mistletoe Walk is also planned on the same date and the Hero Tree will be lit during the Walk. The Hero Tree will be lit nightly through January 5. Stephenson County does not forget its heroes and the Hero Tree initiative is an effort to prove it.
The Greater Freeport Partnership is the host of the Mistletoe Walk. The Mistletoe Walk will highlight the shopping experience in Downtown Freeport. Several boutiques, restaurants, and other shopping places will be highlighted through the Mistletoe Walk. If you want to know more details of the Mistletoe Walk then you need to visit Mistletoe Walk 2019 on Facebook. The Greater Freeport Partnership urges you to return the Hero Ornaments within the deadline in order to make this effort fruitful.
