Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee will host 2020 Presidential debate

The schedule for the 2020 Presidential Election debate has been announced. The presidential debate will be held in Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee while the vice-presidential debate will be held in Utah. The presidential and vice-presidential debates are governed by a nonpartisan commission. The commission has announced the dates and sites for the debates.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that the first debate would take place at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana on the 29th of September. The second debate will be held at the University of Michigan located in Ann Harbor on the 15th of October. The third debate will be held at Belmont University on the 22nd of October. Belmont University is located in Nashville. The vice-presidential debate will be held at the University of Utah on the 7th of October.

Donald Trump, the US President, won Indiana, Michigan, Utah, and Tennessee in 2016. Trump beat Hillary Clinton in Michigan with only the difference of 11000 votes. Michigan is considered a tight battling field for the presidential candidates. The commission said that each debate would run for 90 minutes and there would be no commercial interruption. The commission will announce the moderators and format later.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has been governing the presidential debates since the 1988 election campaign. A huge number of viewers watch these debates on their Televisions. The presidential election debates attract millions of viewers. The historical data proves that the debate matchups are among the most-watched broadcasts on the television network. The commission said that this year’s presidential debates would attract more viewers as compared to the past debates.

84 million live television viewers watched the debate between Trump and Clinton in 2016. Moreover, more than 18 million viewers watched the first Democratic presidential election debate this year. CNN and The New York Times will host the next Democratic primary debate on Tuesday night. The viewers are eagerly waiting for the 2020 presidential debates.
