New Leadership Team introduced

Freeport Park District has introduced a new leadership team. Freeport Park District’s Executive Director, Ron Schneider, has assembled a talented leadership team. The team is placed to guide the District through the Covid-19 pandemic and provide the highest quality parks and recreation services, according to the Freeport Park District.

Near 50 years of experience is brought up by the two new Superintendents. Bruce Cubberley is a certified arborist that joined the Park District team as Superintendent of Parks & Natural Resources last fall. Bruce brings over 30 years of experience and leads the Park District maintenance team.

The management team grooms and enhances Park facilities and the 800+ acres the Park District oversees. Former Recreation Supervisor, Berin Jackson was appointed Superintendent of Recreation. He has about 13 years of experience at the District and directs Park District programs, special recreation, events, and recreation facilities and collaborates with affiliate groups.

Ron Schneider, Executive Director said, “We believe keeping our parks open through this difficult time is essential for our community. We’re fortunate to have a highly experienced team in place at the Park District that works well together for this common goal.”

He added, “It’s only a matter of time before we’ll be into a new and improved normalcy throughout the Park District. We appreciate the ongoing patience and cooperation of our park patrons as we navigate through safe practices in the parks.”
