Rieke Office Interiors develops new SafeSpace products amid COVID-19 pandemic

The coronavirus crisis has changed the mindset of the employers towards the safety of their employees at the workplace. The companies and employers are using different techniques and products to ensure the safety of their workers. Rieke Office Interiors has developed several SafeSpace products to help employers keep their workers safe.

According to ROI officials, they have developed products that are both affordable and adaptable at the workplace. The products are developed on the base of the principle of social distancing. The doctors are wearing face shields to protect themselves from the germs and coronavirus particles. The company got inspiration from those face shields for the development of SafeSpace Rx products.

The SpaceSafe Rx products include protective shields, panels, and panel extenders. Melissa Kehl, the president of the ROI, and her team were able to design the product within a week. It was a great achievement for the company to manufacture a new product in such a quick time. Kehl said, “The key to shifting gear so quickly was having manufacturing on-site, having our engineers on-site, and using parametric software.”

The products are helpful in providing confidence to the employees that they are safe at the workplace. The finished products include the SafeShied Rx, a portable protective shield, the SafeTrans Rx, a protective shield with transaction slots, and the SafePanel Rx, a portable workstation extender. These products are elegant in design and ready to provide satisfaction to the employees when they return to their jobs.

These products have the option of reconfiguration to allow the employees to stay connected with their co-workers and customers. Kehl said, “The trend in recent years has been open office environments, and I don’t think people are going to feel comfortable and safe coming back to that.” Kehl added that the development of the new products was according to the latest office culture.
