Rush Limbaugh receives Medal of Freedom from Trump

Rush Limbaugh is a renowned personality of the United States of America. He hosted a syndicated talk show for 31 years. People heard him in hundreds of markets from coast to coast. Limbaugh announced his cancer diagnosis one day after conservative talk. President Donald Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump awarded the medal to him during the State of the Union on Tuesday. Limbaugh is known as a staunch backer of Trump. Limbaugh has spent time with Trump at Trump’s resorts. Trump said that Limbaugh’s cancer diagnosis was a piece of bad news. Trump added, “This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter that you will ever meet.”

Trump praised the fight of Limbaugh and thanked him for his great work. Trump said, “Thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our nation.” The medal was presented by Melania Trump, the wife of Donald Trump, from the gallery. Limbaugh delivered the bad news about himself during his show on Monday. He said that he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.

Limbaugh told his audience that he would continue hosting the show. He also said that he might need to take some days off to focus on the treatment. It is an honor for whole radio personalities that Limbaugh received this prestigious award. He is an only third radio personality who has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Paul Harvey was the last radio personality that received this award back in 2005.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom has been used in the US for the last six decades. The civilians who advance the national interest, culture, world peace, or other significant public/private endeavors are honored with this prestigious award. Limbaugh received the award at a time when he needed a lot of appreciation. He is batting with advanced lung cancer. Trump praised his efforts for the US and thanked him for his excellent services.
