Star Power of Jeff Koons and Amanda Williams to be Unveiled

The renowned non-profit hub for contemporary art located on Chicago’s vibrant South Side Hyde Park Art Center, will be presenting its annual Gala. For the first time, the Gala will be held virtually, on Saturday, November 21, 2020, 3 – 4 p.m. and 6:30 – 9 p.m. with the Centerpiece program from 7 – 8 p.m.

The Gala has a reputation for being the city’s most fun art party. The Art Center’s Gala will be live-streamed this year free of charge on hydeparkart.org/gala. The Livestream will help to raise vital funds to assist the impacted Art Center’s programs for Chicago art and artists. Internationally acclaimed artists Jeff Koons and Amanda Williams will feature in the Gala Centerpiece program.

Members of the Art Center’s own Youth Board of Artists will lead the conversations. The Gala public programming will start at 3 p.m. with a unique hour-long Kids Gala featuring art-making and a puppet dance party for artmakers grades K-6. It will be followed by a lively cocktail hour with DJ Sadie Woods for viewers to get settled and explore silent auction items from 6:30 – 7 p.m.

The Centerpiece Gala program will take place at 7-8 p.m. From 8-9 p.m., the Interactive Artist Interventions will take place via Zoom breakout rooms. An online auction will take place throughout the event. Items will be displayed on the Gala webpage and a live paddle raise during the Gala main program. Anyone can attend the Gala programs free of charge.
