Trend of coronavirus patients suffering from strokes continues

A piece of recent news revealed that some coronavirus patients were suffering from strokes. The doctors and researchers noticed a continuation of a trend in this regard now. They said that it is a prevailing situation among adult patients of the coronavirus infection. Dr. Michael Makley, a neurologist at Craig Hospital, said, “As we pull apart the COVID genome and try to understand how the COVID particle infects humans, then, I think, we will understand more mechanistically.”

Makley and his team have been treating the stroke patients who had been tested positive for the coronavirus. Makley confirmed that the situation was found mostly among young adults who suffered from the COVID-19 infection. He said, “The patients I am seeing are young adults.” He added that he was worried about the connection between the strokes and the coronavirus infection among those adults.

It is a new field of research as novel coronavirus is quite new in the United States of America. It is normally known as a respiratory disease that affects the lungs of a patient. According to some medical experts, the disease can affect the blood of the patients. The prevalence of stroke among adult COVID-19 patients.

Makley said, “There are suggestions that COVID itself may lead to what we call a hypercoagulable state.” He added that it could develop clots in the legs, lungs, or in the brain of the patients. He confirmed the presence of a blood clot in the legs of his patients. Makley added, “It supports the theory of a coagulation issue with the virus.”

Makley said that it could be the aftermath of the COVID in his patients. They got rid of the virus but have this profound neurological deficit, he said. At the moment, the medical researchers are unable to know the cause of the cryptogenic strokes. People are advised to call 911 if they feel any of the following symptoms: –
