16 Palestinian Protestors shot by Israeli Forces near Gaza Frontier

Israeli Forces opened fire on the Palestinian protestors who were protesting at Gaza Frontier. The protest was in commemoration with the mass displacement during the war in 1948. Palestinians mark Nakba on May 15 as thousands of them were expelled on this day from their homes back in 1948 which led to Israel’s creation.

Large crowd gathered on Wednesday at the Frontier after Hamas. A strike announced on the day for getting more people on the frontier. The health ministry of Gaza reported that more than 65 people got injured due to the live fire, shrapnel, and rubber-coated steel bullets fired by Israeli Forces. 22 children were also included in the injured 65 Palestinians.

This is not the first time when Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians. One year ago, an Israeli sniper killed 60 people in a single day when people came out to protest against the opening of US Embassy in a disputed area of Jerusalem. Since then, more than 200 people have been killed by the Israeli bullets and 7000 have been wounded as well. A US inquiry team reported, “Israel’s actions count as war crimes as its sniper killed disable people, children, and unarmed people”.

The clash between the Israeli forces and militants of Palestine is a regular scene. There is a clear threat of forth war between Israel and Hamas. Israel and Hamas have reached a deal in which cease fire have been agreed last year. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) released a photo in which people were gathered near the border line. IDF said, “the demonstrators tried to reach the security fence”.

Palestinian political figures want the return of refugees to their homeland. There are more than 5 million Palestinian refugees across the Middle East. Israel says, “The return of these refugees will affect the Jewish majority in the region”.
