2020 NFL drafts to take place on scheduled date

A memo has been sent to the teams of NFL about the 2020 NFL drafts. According to the memo, the draft will go on as scheduled in April 2020. The 2020 NFL drafts will take place from April 23 to April 25 despite the coronavirus concerns. Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the League, sent the memo to the NFL teams today.

Goodell wrote in the memo that the drafting event would take place in a different way due to public health concerns. The public events related to the drafting have been canceled by the league administration. The drafting event will be televised in a most appropriate manner with keeping the health concerns under consideration, Goodell said.

The families and prospects will not be allowed to be taken to the draft in Paradise, Nevada, according to the commissioner of the NFL. Goodell requested the clubs to carry out drafting operations outside of their facilities. He also urged the clubs to operate drafting processes in the presence of a limited number of people.

Goodell urged all clubs to use sufficient technology to communicate with each other and with the drafting headquarters. He has already released the instructions for all 32 teams of the League to close their facilities and allow only a few employees to enter the facilities by 6 pm, Wednesday. The technology personnel, security personnel, doctors, and trainers will be allowed to enter the facility, according to the commissioner.

The current restrictions have been imposed to stop the spread of the virus and ensure the health safety of the players and other employees of the clubs. The restriction will stay in effect until April 8, 2020. The League administration will re-evaluate the situation after April 8. The COVID-19 infection has been spreading all across the United States. A rise in the number of reported cases in the US has been noticed in the past few days. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), social distancing is the best practice to reduce the spread of the virus.
