Four men and a teenage boy are facing trouble with the law as they are facing misdemeanor charges. They allegedly crash a stolen vehicle on Tuesday in the South Loop. The men involved are named as Martin Perez, Jorge Perez, and Javier Ramirez.
The Chicago police say that they are charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal trespass to a vehicle. Martin is 21, Jorge is 19, while Javier is 28-years old. A teenager is also charged with the same charge. He is 17-years old. The police say that around 1:55 p.m., a black Pontiac sedan was seen speeding southbound in the 2000 block of South Michigan Avenue.
The Pontiac sedan had hit a grey Infiniti sedan in the rear-end as it was also going in the same direction. As the two cars collided, the Pontiac had spin out of control and crashed into two parked cars. Police say that fie passengers could be seen running away from the crash scene. They say that the suspects were seen heading eastbound on Cullerton Street from Michigan Avenue.
Police say that four out of the five suspects were found hiding in a hotel in the 2100 block of South Prairie Avenue. The fifth suspect was not with them and is still at large. Police sources have said that the car these suspects were driving was stolen. The reason of the crash is to be believed that the people in the Infiniti began to fear that the people in the Pontiac were going to shoot at them.
Police say that no one was injured in the crash. The teenage boy will face juvenile court as he awaits a date. The four men will face court on August 9. The police are still looking for the fifth suspect.
