Activists say Serial Killer has been killing Black Women for 20 years

Activists push police to investigate a serial killer that have been killing Black Women for about 20 years.

12 years ago, body of Teresa Bunn was found inside a burning trash can in Chicago. She was eight months pregnant at the time.

This incident came days within a similar situation. Hazel Marion Lewis body was found inside a burning trash can.

The Murder Accountability Project has revealed a shocking report. They say that these two women are part of at least 51 women killing streak. Majority of them are African American just like Bunn and Lewis.

The killings started since 2001 and all of the cases are unsolved. They also say that the police should have found the serial killer.

The Chicago Sun-Times report that the Chicago police will look into this matter. All of this is due to the pressure from community activists and advocates.

The Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson has given a statement. He was talking to a community forum on Thursday. He says that there is no evidence of a serial killer existence. However, they will look into this matter and review the information.

The Murder Accountability Project founder Thomas Hargrove was speaking to Sun-Times and said that this is a relief to hear the words of the Superintendent.

The Chicago Police are not alone in the investigation according to the Atlanta Black Star. They say that the FBI will help the Chicago Police to investigate the matter.

They say that looking at the fact that most of them were African-American and their bodies were found in abandoned buildings, the motives behind the killings could be sexual attempts.

Hargrove says that it could take time to solve all the 51 killings but Police actions could stop any further killings.
