Brady earns MLS Team of the Matchday honor

Chicago Fire FC goalkeeper Chris Brady has been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday for Matchday 6 following a decisive performance in the club’s 1-0 victory over Nashville SC at Soldier Field, the team announced April 6.
The recognition underscores Brady’s impact in the early stages of the 2026 season, as Chicago handed Nashville its first loss of the campaign. It also marks the eighth time in his career that Brady has earned a place on the league’s weekly honor list.
Returning from international duty with the U.S. Men’s National Team, Brady delivered a composed performance, recording four saves. Among them was a pivotal moment in the 74th minute, when he pushed Hany Mukhtar’s free kick over the crossbar. He later preserved the clean sheet with a stoppage-time save on a header from Jeisson Palacios.
The shutout was Brady’s third in six matches this season. He had previously been included in the Team of the Matchday Best XI after a scoreless draw against the Columbus Crew on March 7.
Chicago Fire FC competes in Major League Soccer with a professional roster, while also promoting the growth of the sport across the Midwest and supporting youth development and community initiatives, according to the club. Soldier Field remains the team’s home venue for matches and events.
Historically, the club has secured titles in MLS Cup competition as well as multiple U.S. Open Cups. Its identity, including crest and colors, draws inspiration from elements tied to the Great Chicago Fire.
Looking ahead, Chicago will host Atlanta United FC in an Eastern Conference matchup on Saturday, April 11, at Soldier Field. The match will be available globally via Apple TV and broadcast locally on WLS 890 AM (English) and TUDN Radio Chicago 106.7 HD2 (Spanish).
