Chicago Fire II Falls 5-4 to NYCFC II at SeatGeek

Chicago Fire FC II came up short in a nine-goal battle on Sunday night, falling 5-4 to New York City FC II at SeatGeek Stadium. Despite the loss, Chicago remains in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Shokalook’s Hat Trick Highlights

Forward Jason Shokalook delivered a standout performance, recording a hat trick with goals in the 27th, 32nd, and 80th minutes. David Poreba also added his second goal of the season, converting a free kick from Jhoiner Montiel in the 70th minute.

The match began with Dylan Borso driving up the right side and forcing a save before Shokalook buried the rebound. Just minutes later, Montiel set up Shokalook for his second goal.

New York’s Comeback

New York narrowed the gap with an own goal in the 37th minute and leveled the score when Sebastiano Musu struck in the 54th. After Poreba restored Chicago’s lead, Musu responded with two more goals, including a penalty kick.

Shokalook’s third tally briefly reignited Chicago’s hopes, but Camilo Ponce netted the decisive goal in the 89th minute for New York.
