E-Plan review launched by the City of Naperville for enhancing the submission process

The revision of the developmental submittals in the digital form has been started by the City of Naperville. The decision of electronic submittals is taken for limiting the environmental footprint. The e-Plan review will help in smoothing and enhancing the efficiency of the submission process.

The customers will be able to make the submittals with only a few clicks. Many customers get confused while making submittals. In the e-Plan review, they will be able to get automatic mark-ups on the e-Plan review paper. The reviewing departments including building, planning, fire, engineering, utilities, and public works can collaborate efficiently with the aid of the software. They have given the necessary instructions to the customers/applicants within the electronic paper.

The e-Plan review project has been launched after the collective efforts of different departments including the Transportation, Engineering, and Development (TED) Department. They had been working on the e-Plan review since February. The City of Naperville receives thousands of pounds of paper every year in the form of submittals. The electronic paper will allow the City to save a huge amount of paper.

The Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council have been directed to review the development submittals digitally to approve entitlement. It is considered as the first move of the City towards a full e-Plan review. According to the plan, the City will start receiving electronic submittals for all commercial and residential building projects by the year 2020.

The City is also working on a long-term plan to convert all papers that are required for taking permissions during the development process into digital papers. You are required to visit www.naperville.il.us/developmentpetition for getting more information about the e-Paper review. The electronic papers will have huge environmental benefits in the City of Naperville.
