Equipment reinstallation initiated

The Naperville Park District staff will start to reinstall equipment at several park facilities. Between May 26 and the first week of June, the staff will start the reinstallation of the equipment allowing the reopening of several types of park facilities, including basketball courts, volleyball courts, and the Knoch Knolls Park disc golf course.

It will take one to two weeks for the equipment reinstallation and opening of the facilities. On May 26, Basketball rim installation will start at neighborhood parks. From that, it will move to sports complexes. Across the District, 104 rims will be reinstalled. This process will require 6-7 days to complete.

From June 1, Volleyball nets and the disc golf baskets at Knoch Knolls Park will be reinstalled. This process will take up to 3 days.

The District is expecting people to follow the social distancing protocols once these recreational amenities are open for reuse. A minimum distance of 6-foot should be observed by the users.

If they can’t maintain the distance, a face covering should be worn. Additionally, players must follow CDC guidelines for hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Vigilant hand washing or using hand sanitizer should be observed in the absence of soap and water, and by refraining from touching their faces.
