Jessica Court Residence Fire

Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a report of a fire from a Naperville Police Department unit at 9 P.M. on Saturday. The PSAP also received a 911 call from a resident reporting a fire involving a neighbor’s single-family home. A general alarm was dispatched to the reported structure fire.

Three engines, one ladder truck, two squads, two ambulances, and two shift commanders constituted the general alarm. Battalion 2 arrived on the scene within four minutes of the initial 911 call. They observed heavy black smoke and fire coming from the side of the house and established command. The fire engine had arrived on the spot shortly.

The fire engine deployed a hand-line to extinguish the fire. Upon arrival Engine 7 and Battalion 2 evacuated one resident out of the house. On the interior and exterior of the house, salvage and overhaul were performed. Smoke removal and extinguishment of any hidden fire were also performed.

Naperville Police Department, Naperville Electric Department, and NICOR assisted the Naperville Fire Department. To assist the residents, the American Red Cross was contacted. The City’s Transportation, Engineering, and Development Department (TED) were also contacted for follow up.

Bolingbrook Fire Department and Oswego Fire Protection District had provided coverage for Naperville fire stations during this incident. No firefighters or civilians were injured. The structure was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Naperville Fire Department.
