JJC’s Cisco program earns Cisco Network Academy CCNA Curriculum Excellence 2019 distinction

The Cisco program of the Junior Joliet College (JJC) has been recognized again for its excellent performance in the field. The program earns Cisco Network Academy CCNA Curriculum Excellence 2019 award. The distinction is awarded by Cisco Network Academy to one academy in each region for its excellent performance in teaching a curriculum.

The Academy selects the winner of the award after evaluating all the institutes thoroughly. The evaluation process includes the student feedback scores and the performance of the students. Joseph Sullivan, an instructor of Cisco at JJC, said, “This is a high honor for the College.” JJC is among the two colleges in North America to receive this award out of 10000 global academies.

Three professors of the Cisco program at JJC received Expert Level Instructor Excellence Award from the Cisco Networking Academy. They have been awarded on the base of their excellent performance and teaching skills in the classroom. The names of these professors are William Martin, Dave Tapper, and Sullivan. They are among the top 10 percent of all Cisco Networking Academy instructors worldwide.

It is the 10th time when the JJC professor earned this award. Sullivan said that it was a proud moment for them. He added that they would continue to strive for excellence in the field of Cisco. He admired the efforts and support of the College towards the Cisco Academy. Sullivan said, “Recognition of this magnitude is made possible through the College’s continued support for our Cisco Academy.”

The demand for IT professionals has risen due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Sullivan. JJC provides training to the students from the basic level. Cisco is the largest company in the field of cybersecurity and networking. The company provides training resources to the JJC’s Cisco program. The students can earn a certificate of an Associate in Applied Sciences as a computer network technologist from the College.
