Lake County Health Department releases new interactive map showing COVID-19 cases

A new interactive map has been released by the Lake County Health Department on March 25, 2020. The map shows the concentration of the coronavirus per 10000 population in the county. The concentration of the cases is higher in the Lake County suburbs as compared to other areas, according to the map.

Lake Zurich is the only area outside the southeast region of Lake County that shows a higher concentration of the COVID-19 cases. According to the map, 5-9 cases per 10000 people were reported in Lake Zurich. The map shows the highest concentration of the cases in Lake Forest and Highland Park. According to the recent stats, 20-24 cases per 10000 people were being reported in these areas.

Less than 5 cases per 10000 people were reported in Highwood, an area that lies between Highland Park and Lake Forest. The municipalities of Deerfield and Highland Park have the borders with Cook County. A higher number of cases were reported in these municipalities. 20 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by the Lake County Health Department on March 25, 2020. According to the reports, a total of 135 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Lake County so far. The first COVID-19 case was reported by the Lake County Health Department on March 11, 2020. Mark Pfister, the executive director of the Lake County Health Department, said, “Protecting our most vulnerable residents is something we take very seriously.”

The Lake County Health Department has been taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the county. They have managed the facility of isolation for the patients who exhibit the symptoms of the COVID-19 infection. The government of Lake County issued the orders of staying at home since the outbreak.
