Naperville 911 (PSAP) extinguishes fire in single-family home in Proud Clarion Court

The Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) of Naperville received an alarm about the fire in a single-family home in the 800 block of Proud Clarion Court on February 18, at 6:39 am. Naperville 911 (PSAP) responded immediately and dispatched Truck 1. The smoke was coming from the basement of the home, according to the Truck 1 officials.

Truck 1 arrived at the scene at about 6:45 am. Upon the initial inspection by the Truck 1 team, smoke was coming from the basement. They immediately had the PSAP upgrade to a general alarm assignment. Naperville 911 (PSAP) dispatched 10 pieces of equipment and 24 personnel to the reported address. The incident commander and the incident safety officer also reached there.

The initial inspection showed that there was no one inside the building. There were three people inside the building when the fire broke but they exit the structure on their own after hearing the alarm. After the initial inspection, the firefighters began their operation. They started an aggressive interior fire attack. The fire was located in a bathroom in the basement of the building.

The firefighters advanced the hose lines in the basement to locate the origin of the fire. The fire crew was able to take control within the ten minutes of its arrival. The fire was contained by firefighters to the area of origin. After taking control of the fire, the suppression unit started its ventilation assignment. The purpose of this operation was to locate any hidden fire or areas of high heat.

According to the PSAP Naperville officials, no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. The fire is under investigation. The Naperville Transportation, Engineering, and Development (TED) department deemed the home uninhabitable. The Naperville Police Department assisted the Naperville Fire Department at the scene. The Naperville Electric and Water departments also provided valuable assistance.
