The Loaves and Fishes Community Service will get the benefit from the 13th annual Pennies for Pies drive of the Naperville Park District. The drive will run from November 1 to November 22. The Loaves and Fishes have initiated a Thanksgiving dinner for residents in need. The donations from the residents and visitors to the Park District facilities will be used for purchasing pumpkin pies for the needy residents.
The residents and visitors are encouraged to donate small changes or make larger donations. Several locations are planned to accept the donations including Naperville Park District Administration Building located at 320 W. Jackson Ave., Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center located at 305 W. Jackson Ave., Fort Hill Activity Center located at 20 Fort Hill Drive, 95th Street Center located at 2244 West 95th Street 2nd Floor, and Knoch Knolls Nature Center located at 320 Knoch Knoll Road.
The Naperville Park District Administration Building stays open from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center stays open from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The Fort Hill Activity Center stays open from Monday to Friday between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm, on Saturday from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, and on Sunday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The 95th Street Center stays open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. The Knoch Knolls Nature Center stays open from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, on Saturday between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, and on Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Brad Wilson, the director of recreation and facilities, said, “Pennies for Pies began years ago in our preschool to learn about what it means when you have many small donations that come together to do something larger.”
Eric Gardner, the director of Philanthropy at Loaves and Fishes, said, “Loaves and Fishes is so grateful to receive this wonderful gift from the Naperville Park District.” The drive will help the residents in need.
