Naperville PSAP responds to structure fire in Havenshire Court

The Naperville Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) responded to an automatic fire alarm (AFA) for a multifamily residence on April 12 at 1:47 am. The Naperville PSAP sent Squad 8 to the residential building in the 900 block of Havenshire Court immediately. The squad found no outward signs of fire from the two-story townhome.

Squad 8 started investigating and found that the fire broke in the bedroom. The single suppression vehicle response was upgraded to a general alarm upon the initial inspection. The general alarm assignment included two ladder trucks, three engines, two ambulances, one rescue vehicle, and two shift commanders.

The first unit of firefighters began an operation to extinguish the fire. They made an interior attack with a hand-line to take control of the fire. According to the Naperville Fire Department, the residents were not present inside the home at the time of the fire. The firefighters took control of the fire within the 25 minutes of the initial fire alarm, according to the officials.

The Naperville Police Department assisted the fire department during the operation. The Naperville PSAP sent notifications to The American Red Cross and Transportation, Engineering, and Development (TED) department. According to the fire officials, Wheaton Fire Department, Bolingbrook Fire Department, and the Warrenville Fire Protection District also assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The Naperville fire officials said that there were no injuries reported to the firefighters or civilians during the incident. The Naperville Fire investigators are determining the actual cause of the structure fire in the 900 block of the Havenshire Court. The TED said that the residence was uninhabitable for the affected unit. However, the firefighters have removed the fire completely after a clear extinguishment of any hidden fire.
