Barrack Obama, former president of the United States of America, has urged the Americans to reject those leaders who intensify hatred during their speeches. Obama did not nominate anyone but his comments came after Donald Trump sought to deflect criticism over his anti-immigrant policies.
Donald Trump condemned white supremacy and hatred during his speech on Monday. Trump made these comments during his speech after the mass shooting incidents in Texas and Ohio. These shooting incidents killed 31 people. Obama was failed to restrict gun ownership during his presidency. He said in 2015, “My failure to pass common sense gun safety laws have been the greatest frustration of my presidency.”
Mr. Obama did not comment on the migrant rhetoric of Trump. He said, “We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments.” Mr. Obama added that America was not only for one certain type of people.
The Walmart store in El Paso had a bloody shooting which left 22 people dead. 26 people were injured in the incident. Patrick Crusius, a resident of the city of Allen, was recognized by the police as the shooter. Crusius posted a document online before killing 22 people in Texas. The document said that the shooting was a response towards the Hispanic invasion of Texas. A gunman killed 9 people in Ohio on Sunday including his sister. Connor Betts, the suspected shooter, was shot dead by police after the incident.
Mr. Obama has urged the citizens of America to reject the voices of the leaders who spread hatred and normalize racism. America is a diverse country which helps the immigrants, minorities, and other groups, Obama said. Hatred speeches are the main reasons behind the mass shooting incidents. It was a sad weekend for the Americans due to two mass shooting cases.
