Peoria County Government announces Learn with Peoria County programs

The public has been invited by the Peoria County Government to join the Learn with Peoria County programs at the North Campus of Illinois Central College. There are experts in the field of law enforcement, personal health and safety, the tax cycle and many more working in Peoria County. The experts will share their experiences in free programs.

People can join the programs in free and they will be able to interact with the experts and ask questions from them in these programs. There is a requirement of registration for joining a program. Anyone, above 18, can apply for joining the programs. The classes are scheduled from 6-8 pm. Those who are interested in the programs can get registered by visiting the official website of Illinois Central College. The residents can also get registered by calling at (309) 690-6900.

The residents can also apply for joining the programs by visiting the ICC North’s Hickory Hall located at 5407 N. University Street in Peoria. Dave Ryan, the Supervisor of Assessments at Peoria County, will instruct on September 5 in a class named as ‘The Basics of Property Assessment: Where DO Your Tax Dollars Go?’. Ryan will answer the questions of the participants such as why are my property taxes so high? What the heck is Pleasure Driveway?

Josh Thompson, the GIS manager at Peoria County, will instruct the participants on September 9. He will be the instructor of the class named as ‘Finding Property Information in Peoria County’. This workshop is for the people who are interested in knowing the functionality of Peoria County’s Front Desk GIS map application.

Renne Spradlin and Stephanie Streight, from Peoria County’s Health Department, will instruct the participants on October 24. They will share their experience with the audience in a class named ‘How to Prevent a Kitchen Nightmare!’. Spradlin and Streight will explain the best practices for keeping the food, kitchen, and dinner parties safe.
