Pregnant Chicago women that was murdered will be laid to rest on Saturday

Marlen Ochoa-Lopez was 19-years old and nine months pregnant when she was killed and her unborn baby was cut from her womb. Funeral arrangements have been made for her and she will be laid to rest on Saturday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be visitation day and will be at the Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Stickney, Illinois.

The funeral service will be carried out on Saturday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the Mount Auburn Memorial Park. The teenager had disappeared on April 23. She had appealed to mothers for baby items on a Facebook page. Clarisa Figueroa had lured Ochoa-Lopez to her home twice. The second time, she had taken the help of her daughter and strangled the 19-year-old with a cable. Clarisa’s daughter, Desiree Figueroa was 24-years old.

Both of them were arrested by the authorities within a week. They were charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery. They were not alone in this. Clarisa Figueroa’s boyfriend was also charged. The 40-year old Piotr Bobak was charged with the death of a person and concealing a homicidal death.

The authorities say that that after allegedly killing Ochoa-Lopez, Clarisa had pretended that the baby was hers. She had intended to raise the baby as her own after his son had died last year. The Chicago Police said on Friday that the baby is in grave condition and is on life support in the hospital.

Ochoa-Lopez’s husband is distraught after what has happened to his wife and baby. He said that it is very hard to go through all this. Yovani Lopez said that “It’s very painful,” “Very painful to see your wife, with whom you lived with for four years … with her eyes closed.”

“She didn’t do anything to them, she was a good person,” he said. “Knowing she had a family, a 3-year-old son. I can’t believe it.”
