The Transportation, Engineering, and Development Business Group of the City of Naperville invited the public to attend a second public input session on Tuesday, October 29. The updated designs will be presented in front of the public during the session about the first phase of the Downtown Streetscape Project. The City of Naperville is looking for improvements in the project.
The session will be hosted by the TED Group in the NEU meeting room at the Naperville Municipal Center. The session will be open to the public. The timing of the session is set on from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. CivilTech Engineering, Inc. is providing consultancy services to the project. CivilTech representatives and the City officials evaluated the public comments after the first public input session.
The CicilTech and City officials have been performed additional analysis on the base of the public comments and they are looking for an alternative design. In the second public input session, the City and CivilTech representatives will present the alternative design components. The presentations are scheduled in the session at 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, and 6:30 pm.
The open house-style event will allow the public to ask questions. The City staff and the project consultants will answer the questions and provide details of the project. The feedback will be collected during the event and it will be considered during the development of the final design of the Downtown Streetscape Project.
The aim of the proposed project is to upgrade the several sections of Webster, Jefferson, Main, and Jackson up to the Downtown Streetscape Standards. According to the proposal, the construction will be started in the spring of 2020. The rebuilding will allow the residents to live in a safe and sound environment. According to the proposal, the roads will be reconstructed and paved for Jefferson Avenue, Main Street, and Jackson Avenue.
