Thundersnow hits Chicago

Chicago is facing thundersnow in southern half of Chicago on Sunday.

Snowfall forecasts are being made on the west and north sides of half-inch.

Meteorologists say that that 3 inches snowfall fell in the O’Hare International Airport.

The National Weather Service originally predicted that light flurries will fell but the prediction were somewhat wrong.

Meteorologist Todd Kluber said that 3 inches of snow fell around 1 p.m.

Meteorologist Kevin Donofrio say that it is hard for thundersnow to fall because it requires relatively warm air.

The snowfall is expected to let up by midafternoon, Kluber said, but the snow that was expected to melt off by Monday now could stick around in parts of the area until Tuesday.

Temperature is not expected to warm down until Tuesday. The snow in the city will melt quicker than the ice in other parts of the region.

Kluber said that majority of the roads were wet due to the snow melting due to the contact with the vehicles.

Areas to the west and northwest, had slick roadways with accumulation with ice.

The Cubs vs the Angels game had to be postponed due to the heavy bands of snow falling before 9 a.m.

The fans of Game of Thrones made references to the popular line Winter is coming.

Other people made memes of Chicago’s 12 seasons due to seeing all four seasons in a span of few days.

The conditions will not become normal as forecasters are saying that temperature will reach 38 degrees in the upcoming time.

Winds about 30 to 40 mph will also blow in the region.

Forecasters say that on Monday, the temperature will reach a high of 47 degrees with light rain showers also a possibility.

The National Weather Service says that the temperature of the week will rebound from Sunday’s low and is expected not to cross 65 degrees and lows in the 40s.
