Train hits officer in Georgia, body cam video released by police

The officer was on duty when he was hit by a train. The Georgia police released the body cam video. The video shows the moment when the officer was hit by the train. Andy Anderson, a Polk County officer, was hit by the train near Rockmart on Tuesday, according to the media reports.

The collision resulted in the breakage of several bones of Anderson and he also suffered a concussion. Anderson was wearing a 360-degree body camera in which the moment of impact was recorded. According to the Georgia police chief, Anderson was involved in catching a robbery suspect. He was so focused that he could not realize how close he was to the tracks.

Anderson was lucky as he did not suffer critical injuries. According to ABC News, Anderson suffered a concussion. The doctors treated him for numerous broken bones as well. He was released from the hospital after the necessary treatment, ABC News report said.

Jayden Moats, a robbery suspect, disappeared from the scene and he is still out of the custody of the police. According to the police, Anderson was trying to catch Moats when he was hit by the train. He went too close to the tracks while catching the suspect. The police are still looking for Moats, an 18-year-old suspected robber.

Anderson was transported to the hospital immediately. The doctors treated him for a concussion and numerous broken bones. He was discharged from the hospital after the necessary treatment. The doctors said that he was lucky enough that he did not suffer from life-threatening wounds. The police chief admired the dedication and focus of Anderson while performing his duty. The body cam video shows how severely he was hit by the train. The incident happened on Tuesday near Rockmart.
