Wide receiver of Bears injures his right ankle during practice session

Anthony Miller, the wide receiver of the Chicago Bears, left the practice field on Saturday due to a right knee/foot injury. The injury occurred after the awkward landing by Miller, sources reported.

Miller injured himself during a one-on-one drill. He jumped to catch a contested pass against Kyler Fuller, the cornerback of the Bears, and landed awkwardly. He walked back towards the locker room after the awkward landing. Matt Nagy, the coach of Chicago Bears, said that he felt there was nothing serious. He did not tell much about the injury of Miller to the media.

He said that he would go back and watch it. “He will be alright. I think he rolled it”, Nagy said. Miller tweeted after 15-20 minutes of the injury that he was alright. He quickly deleted that tweet. He suffered from a shoulder injury in week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. Miller was the 51st overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. The shoulder injury affected his performance throughout his rookie year.

He technically missed only a single game due to that shoulder injury but he struggled a lot, especially in running in a proper way. He caught 33 catches for 423 yards in the full season. He had 7TDs which makes him the second-best NFL rookie receiver to after Calvin Ridley of Atlanta. Miller had shoulder surgery in the off-season. He missed the entire off-season program of Chicago Bears.

The medical examiners cleared him in July at the beginning of the training camp. Nagy said, “When you have reservations about your shoulder popping out, I think anybody would be a little hesitant to do what you need to do.” Nagy showed hope for his current injury and he said, “We will get him right with his foot.” Miller is currently standing on number 3 spot on the Chicago’s depth chart. He is behind Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel.
