Yankees Tie HR Record in 13-3 Rout of Rays

Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Giancarlo Stanton hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the first inning as the Yankees tied a franchise mark with nine home runs, routing the Rays 13-3. New York matched the record set earlier this season against Milwaukee; the MLB record is 10, held by the 1987 Blue Jays. Bellinger went 4-for-5 with two homers, Stanton added two and four RBIs, Judge scored three times, while Jose Caballero also hit two homers.

Elsewhere, Detroit edged Houston 1-0 in 10 innings on a Gleyber Torres walk, with Tarik Skubal fanning 10. Atlanta rallied from 10-4 down to beat the White Sox 11-10 on Drake Baldwin’s late single. David Peterson struck out 10 in the Mets’ 8-1 win over Washington.

In other games: J.T. Realmuto’s homer lifted the Phillies past the Mariners 6-4; Alejandro Kirk powered Toronto over Pittsburgh 7-3; the Cubs swept a doubleheader from Milwaukee; St. Louis topped Miami 7-4; Kansas City beat Texas 5-2 behind Bobby Witt Jr.’s 100th homer; Baltimore outlasted Boston 4-3 in 11; the Dodgers hit two homers in an 11-4 win at Colorado; Oakland defeated Minnesota 6-3; Cincinnati edged the Angels 6-4; San Diego snapped a skid with a 5-1 victory over San Francisco; and Arizona beat Cleveland 6-5 as Lourdes Gurriel Jr. delivered the go-ahead hit.
