87-Year-Old Tri-Athlete Set Record in Chicago Competitions

Bob Scott takes part in Chicago competition being 87-year-old. This year he set a record as the oldest participant.

Bob Scott is an engineer. He retired many years ago but he is still active and full of life. This year he participates in the triathlon completion in Chicago, he lives in this city (suburb Naperville) and does sports regularly.

Despite the age, Bob Scott is ready for the competition that includes 1500-meter swimming, 24.8-mile biking and 10K running. He takes part in marathons usually, he has been at 140 competitions. He tried to run his first marathon when he was 40-year-old. During the next years, he worked hard balancing day job with the training. He challenged himself many times in his life, he was 14 times in Kona, place of most powerful triathlon competitions called Ironmans, and participated in 25 Boston Marathons. His best training results were to run 100-120 miles a week.

There will be 33 athletes older than 70-year-old and 7 sportsmen aged 80-year-old and older among the competitors.
