Chicago Fire FC Offers Free License Plate Fees

Chicago Fire FC has unveiled a new initiative with the Illinois Secretary of State to offer official Chicago Fire FC license plates. To mark the launch, the club will cover the $25 application fee for the first 2,000 Illinois drivers who apply.

“This is more than a license plate – it’s a badge of pride,” said Dan Moriarty, Chief Marketing Officer for Chicago Fire FC. “We’re excited to give our fans a new way to represent the Fire and show their love for the Club wherever they drive – whether to a match or the grocery store.”

Illinois residents with valid driver’s licenses can apply online at this link. No payment is required upfront. After the first 2,000 applications are collected, the state will provide applicants with instructions to complete their purchase. The club emphasized that applying does not guarantee a plate, as production will begin once the threshold is met.

The announcement comes as Chicago Fire FC remains in the playoff hunt, sitting ninth in the Eastern Conference with 48 points and three matches left. Upcoming fixtures include games against Toronto FC, Inter Miami, and New England Revolution. Fan Appreciation Night tickets are currently available at chicagofirefc.com.

Founded in 1997, Chicago Fire FC competes in Major League Soccer and plays at Soldier Field. The club has captured six major domestic titles and invests in youth development through its academy and the Chicago Fire Foundation’s community programs.
