Fire at Dengeos Restaurant on Dundee Rd Near Old Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 9:13 p.m. Sunday January 5, 2020 to a report of a fire at Dengeos restaurant, 195 West Dundee Road. A caller reported a fire on the northwest corner of the building, and also reported that everyone was out of the building.

Police on arrival by 9:16 p.m. reported heavy smoke showing.

Buffalo Grove Quint 25’s crew on arrival reported light smoke showing from the west side of the roof. The fire was upgraded to a working fire response “Code 4” by 9:20 p.m.

Dundee Road was shut down in both directions by 9:22 p.m.

Fire command reported an exterior fire that moved into the building near the southwest corner. Two additional ambulances were dispatched to the scene by 9:43 p.m. but initially it was not clear if there were any injuries.

Fire command reported loss stopped by 9:56 p.m.

Firefighters from Arlington Heights, Barrington-Countryside, Palatine, Lake Forest, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, and Prospect Heights responded either to the scene or to standby in Buffalo Grove fire stations.
