First-degree murder charges filed against teen suspect

A Hoffman Estates male was shot in the face on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Police announced on Monday, November 2, that the charges of first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery have been filed against a 17-year-old male suspect.

Roberto Avila-Juarez, the 20-year-old victim of the murder, and the 17-year-old suspect knew each other, according to the Hoffman Estates Police Department.
