Fleming, Cassano Shine as Chicago Fire FC II Beats Miami

Chicago Fire FC II continued its strong mid-season form with a 3-1 victory over Inter Miami CF
II on Wednesday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The result extended the
team’s unbeaten streak to seven matches and demonstrated the squad’s growing cohesion and
attacking prowess.

Midfielder Trip Fleming was a standout performer, netting two goals in the second half. His go-
ahead strike in the 77th minute proved decisive, while his second came just minutes before the
end of regulation. Claudio Cassano, the team’s winger, played a critical role by delivering three
assists—each one instrumental in setting up a goal.

The match opened with Chicago applying steady pressure. Their persistence paid off just five
minutes before halftime when Cassano sent a well-placed ball down the left wing to forward
Jason Shokalook. Shokalook beat a defender and slotted home his fourth goal of the season,
giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.

Inter Miami CF II responded early in the second half. In the 56th minute, Zeltzer-Zubida
launched a counterattack that ended with Pinter finding the back of the net to level the score at 1-
1. However, Chicago Fire FC II quickly reclaimed momentum. Fleming scored with a powerful
header from a Cassano cross, restoring the lead. Just four minutes from time, he doubled his tally
by heading in another delivery—this time from a Cassano corner.

Next, Chicago Fire FC II will host Crown Legacy FC on Sunday, June 30, at SeatGeek Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the match will be available to stream via MLS
Season Pass on Apple TV.
