Qualifying grant application received gets Aurora Downtown assistance

35 COVID-19 relief grants totalling $12, 250 will be distributed by the Aurora Downtown COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund was launched by Aurora Downtown.

Aurora Downtown is a non-profit group of business and property owners. The fund accepted grant applications from businesses located in SSA #One to help provide financial relief from the pandemic.

All the grant applicants located within SSA #One with $350 grants each were funded through Aurora Downtown’s Business Attraction and Retention (BAR) committee.

The funds can be used for a variety of purposes. It was intended for providing assistance to businesses with rent or other operating expenses.

Brian Failing, BAR committee chair and executive director of Aurora Regional Fire Museum said, “During these challenging times, we are excited that Aurora Downtown had the ability to award funding in a timely fashion to businesses in need. We were able to fund 35 applicants that represent a diverse cross section of businesses located in Downtown Aurora.”
