Trump administration plans to raise vaping age limit to 21

Trump administration will release a report over the vaping products next week. Donald Trump, the president of the US, said that the US planned to raise the age limit for vaping to 21. Trump talked to the media at the White House on Friday. He did not talk in detail about any specific date for any announcement.

Trump said that the age limit for vaping would be raised to 21. He did not give any details about the regulatory plans of his administration. The US Health Department issued an alert after the report of several lung illness cases linked to the vaping. The department has shown concerns over the use of electronic smoking devices by the people, especially youth.

Trump asked the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration to research the issues related to vaping in September. He said that the regulators had planned to ban all flavored e-cigarettes. The e-cigarette products have been facing a lot of legal issues since the report of lung issues. Congress has also been investigating the e-cigarette industry.

Trump said, “We have to take care of our kids most importantly so we are going to have an age limit of 21 or so.” The administration is also researching the impacts of age limit or ban over the flavored e-cigarettes on the jobs and the industry. The interests of the vaping industry have been acknowledged by Trump administration.

Trump said, “We are talking about the age, were talking about flavors we are also talking about keeping people working.” The public health advocates have criticized the use of flavors in the e-cigarettes. Juul Labs Inc., an e-cigarette manufacturer, said on Thursday that it would stop the sales of mint-flavored nicotine cartridges in the US. The US Health Department will issue a report next week. The decision will be taken on the base of the report that would be issued by the US Health Department and the Food and Drug Administration.
