Chicago Sky Partners With Moonshot to Tackle Online Abuse
The Chicago Sky has entered a groundbreaking partnership with Moonshot, a company
specializing in countering digital threats using technologies developed for national security and
defense. This collaboration represents the first time such advanced tools will be deployed in the
WNBA to protect players from online harassment.

As part of the initiative, Moonshot’s team will apply sophisticated techniques to detect and
remove harmful content, assess digital threats, and provide the Sky with insights into the root
causes of abuse targeting athletes.

“Hate and harassment have no place in sports,” said Nadia Rawlinson, Co-owner and Operating
Chairman of the Chicago Sky. The organization emphasized that the partnership will enable
players and coaching staff to focus on the game, free from concerns over virtual threats.
Rawlinson underscored the growing impact of online abuse on female athletes, particularly
women of color and LGBTQIA+ individuals. She noted that incidents of harassment are rising in
parallel with the expansion and visibility of women’s sports.

Vidhya Ramalingam, CEO of Moonshot, expressed pride in the collaboration. “We hope this
unique, first-of-its-kind partnership will serve as a model for other sports teams and leagues,” she
said.
