Google Warns of Extortion Emails Targeting Executives

Google has issued a warning that hackers are targeting corporate executives with extortion emails, claiming to have stolen sensitive information from Oracle’s E-Business Suite. The platform is widely used by companies to oversee operations ranging from supply chains to accounting.
According to Google, the campaign appears tied to cl0p, a ransomware group with a history of high-profile cyberattacks. The emails assert that confidential data has been extracted and threaten exposure unless demands are met.
In a statement, Google said it was closely monitoring the campaign but emphasized that there is no confirmation that the hackers’ claims are genuine. “We do not currently have sufficient evidence to assess the veracity of these claims definitively,” the company said.
Oracle has not responded to requests for comment, and the group behind the messages has remained silent.
The warning highlights growing cybersecurity threats aimed at business leaders and underscores the risks facing organizations that rely on enterprise software for critical operations.
