 2020 Highland Community Job Fair to be held on April 9 at Highland Community College

Highland Community College is going to host the 2020 Highland Community College Job Fair on April 9. The event will take place from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the second floor of the Student/Conference Center. Highland Community College is located at 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport, Illinois.

According to the college officials, a Pre-Fair Retreat will also take place on Tuesday, March 24, in H-210. Several topics will be covered in the retreat including: –

  • How to write a cover letter?
  • How to build a resume?
  • How to give a personal presentation?

The event will help the current students, graduates, and area residents to find a good job. The college has issued an open invitation to the relevant job seekers to attend the event. The job seekers will get an excellent networking opportunity through this job fair. The employers in Northern Illinois will send their representatives to the event.

According to the event managers, business casual attire is recommended at the event. The eventgoers will be allowed to ask questions to the employers related to Job Seeker Strategies in different breakout sessions. The timing for this breakout session is from 2:00 to 2:50 pm, 3:00 to 3:50 pm, and 5:00 to 5:50 pm on April 9.

The breakout session of the Post-Fair Retreat: social media ethics, interviewing skills, and more will be held on April 15 from 9:00 am to noon. The area residents will have the facility to use Pretzel City Transit Shuttle to reach the event from the Freeport Public Library. According to the event management, 160 Drive Academy, Apple Canyon Lake Property Owner Association, City of Freeport (Census), Colony Brands, Walmart Distribution Center, Tri Star Metals, Torkelson Cheese, Stephenson Nursing Center, Star Freeport Company, Nationwide Inbound Inc., Milestone Inc., Manpower, Liberty Village of Freeport, Jo-Carroll Energy Inc., and many more employers will participate in the Job Fair.
