On Saturday police detained a 36-year-old man who beat a woman, drove drunk and attacked a policeman.

According to Chicago Police, the offenders’ name is Edward D. Thompson, he is from of south suburban Midlothian. He spent the night at La Cantina bar (1911 S. Michigan Ave.) and tangled with the woman there. During the word-fight, the man became angry and punched her in the chest. Security guards asked Edward to leave the bar.

Edward D. Thompson took his car despite being drunk and tried to escape. The woman went to the police and told them the number of the vehicle so they could catch the offender. The Chicago Police sergeant stopped Thompson in the 2100 block of South Wabash and indicted him.

Thompson acted violently, he strangled the officer so he was not able to breathe. The other policemen who accompanied the sergeant should use a Taser against the detainee. The offender was apprehended.
