Uber Technologies Inc. has gotten a $72 million building permit for work from Chicago at the old Chicago Post Office, 433 W. Van Buren St.

The permit is for the work and it says “first time tenant office build=out of single-tenant office space on floors 8 South, 9 South, 10 Southeast and 12 north. Partial work on floors 8, 10 and 12. New non-egress communicating stairs between 8 and 9.”

Executive Construction, Inc. of Hillside IL. is the project’s general contractor. The Electrical sub traders are Titan Electric LLC; plumber/plumbing – Great Lakes Plumbing & Heating and refrigeration and ventilation – F.E. Moran Inc.

In the redevelopment project, Uber is the largest tenant. They had signed a 10-year lease for nearly 500,000 sq. ft. of office space in the building. This Office will be the company’s second-largest office. The biggest office is its San Francisco headquarters.
