Rollover crash on Charles Road takes life of Woodstock man
A passenger of Woodstock, a 34-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was pronounced dead in the Javon Bea Hospital, Rockford. The victim was taken to the Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital after his ejection from the vehicle during the crash. His condition was severe and he was transported by air to Rockford for saving his life in Javon Bea Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead in the Rockford hospital.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s office confirmed his death in a news release. The crash occurred at 2:00 am on November 24, 2019. The McHenry County police and paramedics received the initial report of the rollover crash and they responded immediately. The report revealed a rollover crash with entrapment and ejection on Charles Road.
The paramedic and deputies of McHenry County Sheriff found two people trapped in a crashed Toyota Camry and one man ejected from the vehicle. All of the people were suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office’s report. The fire officials requested two Flight for Life and ComEd linemen for the security of the scene by cutting the power. The vehicle was covered by the power lines as it snapped a utility pole.
The trapped people in the car were rescued by the paramedics at about 2:30 pm. They were transported via two Flight for Life helicopters to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. The two trapped people inside the crashed Toyota Camry included a 44-year-old woman and 32-year-old male driver, Shawn Brautigam. Both of them were transported to the Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s office and Major Crash Investigation Unit of the McHenry County Sheriff’s office are investigating the crash. Another crash occurred later when a vehicle crashed into a section of a utility pole. No injuries were reported in that incident.
