Downtown Aurora to welcome back First Fridays on August 7
There are Phase 4 guidelines implemented in the state amid the coronavirus pandemic. First Fridays is back in downtown Aurora under these guidelines. The event was happening virtually for three months due to the coronavirus threat. The downtown is going to witness the night of art, music, and fun again on August 7, 2020.
Under appropriate social distancing, the event will include both indoor and outdoor activities. In outdoor activities, the eventgoers will enjoy music, dance, and a scavenger hunt. The participants are required to wear face-covering during indoor activities. Moreover, there will be an occupancy limit for indoor activities on the base of the current guidelines.
The people of all ages will enjoy the performance of Simply Destinee named “Dis-dancing” from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the parking lot of Aurora Public Library at Benton and Lake streets. The performance will be available virtually as well. The brand new studio of AKA Dance, 36 W. Downer Pl., will offer a free trial class. You just need to grab a coupon for attending the free class.
From 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, the visitors will be able to enjoy watching their favorite graffiti and street arts as Gallery 1904 will present an exhibition, Beyond the Walls”. The exhibition will feature the artwork of Jose Torres, Carlos Deltizzle, Sam Cervantes, Josue Paiz, Shreddinkk, Devin, Donna Arnold, John Cornelissen, and many more.
Warehouse 55 will celebrate the grand opening of its second floor at 55 S. Lake Street from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The visitors will enjoy live music on the deck of Ballydoyle at 28 W. New York Street from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. At indoor venues, you will be required to wear a mask. Moreover, you will have to follow the Phase 4 guidelines during all events. Do not miss the art show, Quarantine Creations, that will be organized by Aurora Tap House at 134 W. Downer Pl. from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
