Enrollment and Transportation Center of Freeport School District to host Bus Driver Hiring Open House

The event is organized to meet the drivers’ shortage in the district. The Enrollment and Transportation Center of the Freeport School District will host Bus Driver Hiring Open House on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The event will take place from 9 am to 11 am at 2037 W. Galena Avenue, Freeport.

It will be a unique kind of hiring event in which the potential candidates will get a chance to meet with trainers. They will also participate in onsite interviews and drive a bus around the lot. The event also offers paid training to the drivers. They will also get full benefits and a salary of $15/hour. The drivers will also get an average of 25 hours per week of work. The licensed drivers will get a sign-on bonus of $500 while the unlicensed drivers will get a sign-on bonus of $250.

There is a lack of skilled drivers in the Freeport School District and the district made an effort to attract the drivers of that area. The Enrollment of Transportation Center offers a competitive salary and easy recruitment procedure to the drivers. The Bus Driver Hiring Open House will take place in the Enrollment and Hiring Center located at W. Galena Avenue.

The date is set to be Oct. 19, 2019, for the event. The potential applicants can apply whether they have the license or not. The license-holding drivers will get a benefit of a $500 sign-on bonus. The unlicensed drivers will get a $250 sign-on bonus and they will get $250 after six months when they would have got the license.

There is a need for the bus drivers in the district and the event is organized to meet the requirement. Many drivers will be recruited through the event and it is a great opportunity for the drivers to get a better job with a better salary.
