The first fire crew on arrival reported several motorcycles at the scene. Paramedics assessed a male and female patient with serious injuries. One or both victims went over the guardrail.

A LifeNet helicopter was dispatched for a Landing Zone at Algonquin School, 675 Algonquin Road in Fox River Grove, but the pilot may have adjusted to land in a field just west of Saint John Nepomucene Cemetery closer to the crash scene (not confirmed). The female passenger on the motorcycle was transferred to the Landing Zone and transported by LifeNet medical transport helicopter to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

A gofundme account “Medical Expenses for Mike and Paige” identified the victims as Mike Rossi and his girlfriend Paige Fijolek.
